From 23–27 October 2026, a select group of wedding photographers will gather on the coast of Montenegro for a fully immersive five-day fine art wedding intensive hosted by Mati Machner in collaboration with Frame The Balkans.
Light & Shadow is built for photographers who want to refine their visual language and create destination wedding work that feels timeless, intentional, and emotionally grounded.
This is not a trend-driven styled shoot. This is a structured, high-level experience focused on mastering natural light, shaping shadow, and developing a refined fine art aesthetic that attracts higher-end European clients.
Over five immersive days, you will photograph a fully produced luxury wedding day with real guests, four curated fine art editorial couple shoots, and one relaxed lifestyle session designed to capture authenticity and movement.
Each production is intentionally crafted around architecture, texture, composition, and controlled natural light. Every scene is designed to help you build a cohesive, elevated portfolio that reflects depth rather than trends.
Mati Machner will lead an in-depth masterclass covering his creative philosophy, approach to light and shadow, composition techniques, storytelling, and how to build a fine art wedding brand with longevity. This intensive is about understanding why you shoot the way you do — not just how.
The group is strictly limited to 10 exclusive spots to ensure creative space, direct interaction, and meaningful feedback. This is an intimate environment designed for focused growth and serious portfolio development.
Beyond the structured productions, one full Coastal Inspiration Day is dedicated to recharging creatively, exploring Montenegro’s landscape, and connecting with fellow professionals in a relaxed setting. Growth does not only happen behind the camera — it also happens in the conversations, perspective shifts, and shared experiences.
